1 1/2 lb. stew beef
1-2 lb. soup bones
Salt & pepper to taste
1/2 c. parsley
3 qt. water
3/4 c. barley
2 c. cut up carrots
3/4 c. chopped celery
1 c. chopped onions
1 qt. mashed canned tomatoes
Dice meat and fry until brown. Add to meat: bones, salt,
pepper, parsley and water. Boil for 1 hour. Add barley and simmer 1 more hour.
Add the remaining ingredients and boil for 3/4 hour. Remove soup bones and
serve.
