German Sausage Chowder
1 lb cooked smoked bratwurst or knackwurst cut into 1/2 " pieces
2 med. potatoes, peeled and chopped
1 med onion chopped (1/2 c)
1 1/2 tsp salt
dash pepper
2 c water
1 small head cabbage shredded (4 c)
3 c milk
3 T flour
1 c shredded Swiss cheese
parsley snipped
In large pan combine sausage, potatoes, onion, salt, and pepper.
Add water and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat, cover and simmer 20 minutes or till potatoes are nearly tender.
Stir in cabbage cook 10 minutes. Stir in 2 1/2 c of milk.
Blend remaining 1/2 c milk and flour, stir into soup. Cook stirring till thickened.
Add cheese and cook till melted. Garnish with parsley
