Stuffed Burgers

2 lbs. ground beef
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
1 egg
3/4 cup breadcrumbs (or try Ritz cracker crumbs)
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/8 cup Worcestershire sauce
8 slices cheese - your choice
2 small cans mushrooms
1 medium onion chopped
1 chopped green pepper

Mix together the peppers, mushrooms and onion.

Mix together beef, onion soup mix, egg, breadcrumbs,
pepper and Worcestershire. Form into 8 patties.
Set aside 4.
On the other 4 patties, place one slice of cheese
and divide the veggies mixture between them.
Cover each with the 4 remaining patties.

Cook in oven at 350 for 35 to 45 minutes or until
the meat is no longer pink and the juices run clear.
uncover and lay the 4 remaining slices of cheese on each one.
continue cooking just until cheese melts. Enjoy!

**** These are also good served with a mushroom gravy!
