May your turkey plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
have nary a lump.

and may your Thanksgiving dinner
stay off your thighs!

 THANKSGIVING DAY BARBECUED TURKEY

2 med. onions, diced
1 tbsp. grease
1 c. catsup
1/2 c. water
3 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. prepared mustard
2 dashes of hot sauce
1 (8 to 10 lb.) turkey
Salt and pepper to taste

 

Brown onions in grease; add remaining ingredients except turkey, salt and pepper. Simmer for 30 minutes. Cool to lukewarm. Place turkey on foil; salt and pepper. Spread catsup mixture heavily over and inside turkey. Fold foil over turkey. Bake for 8 to 10 hours from 250 to 300 degrees. Yield: 20 servings.
