Chocolate is a perfect food, as wholesome as it is
delicious, a beneficent
restorer of exhausted power. it is the best friend of those engaged in literary
pursuits.
EASY CHOCOLATE FUDGE
Yield: about 1 and 1/2 pounds
1 box (16 oz.) confectioners sugar,
4 tablespoon Hersheys Cocoa "Great for Baking" Powder,
1/3 cup condensed can milk,
3 tablespoon corn syrup,
1 stick BUTTER,
1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract,
1 cup chopped walnuts.
*Optional; 1/2 cup raisins.
Using a microwaveable large bowl, add sugar, chocolate, milk
corn syrup and butter (do not stir).
In a Microwave, heat 4 minutes on HIGH; remove bowl and stir,
return to microwave oven again and heat for 2 minutes and 20 seconds at 70%
power.
Remove bowl. (Mixture will be HOT. Do not splash!)
Working quickly, add vanilla, nuts and raisins, use a wood spoon
to beat stirring until smooth, (mixture will start to harden very quickly)
pour into well greased square baking dish; chill until firm.
Cut into squares to serve.
