Being born a premature baby
Mommy and daddy you did surprise
You were truly God’s gift to them
But they were concerned about your size
You were shorter than a twelve inch ruler
And one pound and 5.56 ounces in total weight
For the first couple of weeks you were doing well
Then things were changed, by the hands of fate
Your heart rate dropped so drastically
You lacked a good air supply
Your Doctor put you on a ventilator
This seemed to help you to get by
While in your incubator
Oxygen was being pumped to you
Doctors and Nurses worked round the clock
To make sure you made it through
You are a feisty little guy Rowan
And just wont give up your fight
Just feeling love from Mom and Dad
You knew everything would be all right
You have an awesome Auntie Annie
She is right there by your side
You share a special bond with her
A bond that will not come untied
You have made it through the first month of life
You are a little warrior, determined to go on
It’s been a struggle for you all the way
For your fights been hard and long
Gaining strength and even in length
Your appetite and weight increased
If you keep improving like you are
Very soon you’ll be released
You even have your very own web page Rowan
A celebrity is what you are
You have many people praying for you
From near and very far
Even God is watching over you
That’s a fact that is well known
You’re in our prayers and thoughts right now
We all love you baby Rowan.
