As I gaze here out my window
I wonder, what life has in store for me
With all that I have been through
How much worse off can I be?
I know that Im not perfect
I have many faults, thats true
But I have always tried to live my life
The way God wants me too
My time on earth is running out
This is the plain and simple fact
When that day comes and God takes me home
Ill go with pride and my humor intact
Life can be so demeaning
But you try and take it all in stride
For we are judged, by the things we do
Life shouldnt be one free and easy ride
I read the news and watch TV
I dont like whats going on
Were being stripped of all our rights
And the ones we have now will soon be gone
Its time to put God back into our public buildings
Yes, put Him back into the school systems too
And tell these bleeding hearts that want these changes
To find something else they can pursue
To the imbecilic politicians who pass these laws
You know, you are making a great nation weak
To take away God from public places
Why not smarten up and let the people speak
I make a motion we have a referendum
After all, isnt this the democratic way?
We let the people decide upon this issue
If God should leave or stay
You may try to strip me of all my rights
But you can't take away my dignity
You may cut me deep until I bleed
But you cannot take my God from me
For when my life on earth is over
I will pray to God to give me eternal rest
Tis then I will smile because I know
In Gods eyes, I have done my best.
