Don't Dance On Our Graves
Author:
Marilyn Lee

This place in New York City, where the World Trade Centers Stood

Has become our final resting place, we never thought it would

We left our homes with confidence and off to work we went

Not knowing the horrible evil, the terrorists would vent

No-one saw it coming, the living  flying bomb

All walks of life there in it, knew theirs would not be long

We settled down to do our work, our day had just begun

When suddenly out of no-where, blackness invaded the sun

We could smell the burning airplane fuel, and hear the roaring flames

We lost our lives that very day and no-one knew our names

The evil did not just take us, it took many others to

The New York City's finest, police and fire crew

And many other people who gave their lives that day

The families who endured the pain, were left behind to pray

The world and that great city, came together in their pain

The evil that over took that day should never come again

Would you want someone to dance on your grave

Just think does that sound right

Another building standing tall, to block out all our light

From all of us who lost our lives, from near and from afar

Please don't build a building here and dance where our ashes are

Our only hope and prayer for you, is that evil won't prevail

That all the world could live in peace, for life is very frail

Walk by this place with your heads held high

Know this is where we sleep

Those of us who died right here, our love for you we keep

Let's Roll

Two words that sound so simple
Alone don't make much sense
But on September the eleventh
Those words were so intense

Some calls were made to loved ones
To say their last good-byes
Not sure of what would happen
Over Pennsylvania skies

One thing they knew for sure though
They were in a perilous fight
Those terrorits had come aboard
Their carnage to incite

The passengers became like one
A family, strong and brave
And everyone aboard that plane
Knew they had become enslaved

One brave, young man way up there
Made a chilling call back home
He spoke with a heart felt love
To his wife on his cell phone

He told her of his love for her
And that he couldn't stand
To let these foreign terrorists
Invade their loving land

He got some men together
They decided what to do
He left his wife there on the line
While those men they would pursue

The converstaion garbled
It was hard to understand
But she knew they were discussing
A strategy or plan

The last few words she heard him say
As those brave men took a poll
Were just these two simple words
That meant so much 'come on men let's roll'

Two words said from the sky that day
That helped the world to know
Americans had the guts
With just two words, 'let's roll'
